Meet Anjali Sharma — Founder & CEO
Anjali Sharma didn’t set out to build a lingerie brand. With over a decade of experience in the fashion industry and an education from Imperial College London, she had every door open to her. But one frustration kept pulling her back — one she shared with millions of Indian women.
Why was it so hard to find lingerie that actually fit?
Not converted-from-Western-sizes fit. Not close-enough fit. Actually fit — designed from the ground up for Indian body proportions, crafted with fabrics that felt truly premium, at a price that didn’t need a justification.
Anjali didn’t just spot a gap in the market. She felt it every single day. And she decided that if no one was going to solve it, she would.
That decision became Angelicez.
OUR JOURNEY
From Conversations to a Movement | Crafting Lingerie That India Deserves
It started with conversations — hundreds of them. Anjali and her team spoke with women across cities, age groups, and body types. From college students in Delhi to working professionals in Mumbai, from new mothers in Bangalore to brides-to-be in Jaipur. The stories were strikingly similar:
- "I order international brands online and pray they fit."
- "The cheap ones fall apart after two washes."
- "I’ve never found my actual size in an Indian brand."
- "Why does everything feel like it was designed for someone else’s body?"
The Indian lingerie market was booming on paper — but it was failing the very women it claimed to serve. Premium brands catered to Western physiques. Budget brands cut corners on quality and durability. And nearly everyone played the same tired game: inflated MRPs slashed by “limited-time” discounts that never actually ended.
Angelicez was born to end that compromise. We didn’t adapt existing size charts — we threw them out entirely. Our team conducted extensive body-proportion research with Indian women, studying how fit, support, and comfort vary across body types that Western sizing simply doesn’t account for. We built our own size charts from scratch — XS to 4XL — ensuring every size receives equal attention in design, not just an afterthought scaling.
We sourced fabrics obsessively. Every material is tested for softness, breathability, durability, and skin safety. If it doesn’t feel premium after the tenth wash, it doesn’t make the cut. And we designed for how Indian women actually live — not runway fantasies, but real confidence for real days, whether it’s a Monday morning meeting or a Saturday night out.
